Q: The seal doesn’t seem to be sealing properly. What can I do?
A: Usually, when coffee is sucked back upwards into waterchamber, it’s a sign that there is built up ‘back pressure’. When you take yourhand off (or raise plunger) the excess pressure escapes back up through theseal. This usually has three causes: 1. Too much downward force being applied;2. Your coffee grinds are too fine; 3. Your coffee dose is too high. To resolvethis issue, try to press more slowly, try grinding your coffee a little coarser,or lower your dose.
Q: The water doesn’t seem to be passing through the seal. How can I fix this?
A: This could be linked to pressing too hard on the plunger.Instead of the cap, it?s the seal that has been designed to relieve any excesspressure. The idea with Delter is to press softly to extend the dwell timebetween water and coffee, and reduce the agitation of grounds in theprocess.
